Rising consumer base is a sign of safe internet
More than 13 million web users shop in 15,000 online stores in Brazil, but only 15 of these stores account for 80% of all sales, of R$ 8.2 billion last year. Gastão de Mattos, consultant specialized in e-commerce marketing, the increase on the number of shoppers is a sign of the safety of the online shopping. In 2007, there were 10 million internet shoppers and since 2004 this figure has gone up by 30% per year, pace that is expected to continue even with the financial crisis.
