Research says mobile penetration may be lower
Mobile phone penetration in Brazil may be a little bit above the 50% range, and not over 80%, as pointed by Brazilian telecom agency Anatel. A Yankee Group study shows that of the 157 million Brazilian customer, around 100 million own one mobile phone only, as the other 57 million have multiple chips and change it according to the convenience and promotions mobile operators do. This scenario is one of the components in the challenge of balancing networks investments and ARPU.
