Online retail rises in India
A MasterCard survey showed online retail sales in India have been growing, in spite of the global economy slowdown. The sum of convenience and price comparison that leads to more discounts have been attracting consumers to the online world. In India, average online shopping frequency rose from 2.6 to 2.9 in the fourth quarter last year, and 54% of consumers said they used the internet for shopping. The most popular categories are air tickets (54%), electronics and home appliances (48%), and CDs / DVDs (44%).
