Number of internet users rises 12%
In March 2009, the number of internet home users reached 25.5 million in Brazil, according to Ibope Nielsen Online, 2.6% more than in February and 12% over March last year. Considering all Brazilians above 16 years old, there are 62.3 million people with internet access in the country. Almost 90% of all active internet users, or 22.3 million people, used broadband connections, a 22% year-on-year rise.
