Latin América leads text message promotions
Mobile internet has already 490 million users worldwide, according to data released during the Mobile Marketing Forum, in São Paulo. The use of text messages to vote on promotions and programs is the most demanded use, with 62% in Latin America, 57% in Asia and 59% in Western Europe. In Brazil, 57% of companies have done this kind of promotion. The download of ringtones, wallpapers and games is more frequent in India (56%), followed by Argentina (48%), Brazil and Mexico (both with 41%). Alerts on purchases and bills are also more present in India (49%), followed by Singapore (47%) and South Korea (44%).
