Gartner reveals new mobile technologies
A Gartner Group survey pointed eight mobile technologies that must be considered in the next strategic planning processes as the ones most likely to influence businesses. Until 2011, in the most developed markets, more than 95% of the mobile devices will include Bluetooth. Location Technologies will be a hit also, making companies able to locate consumers and prospects in specific regions and to communicate with them. Another trend is Near Field Communication (NFC), as mobile phones will have this technology embedded, allowing to make payments or as a subway ticket. According to Gartner, these technologies will be spread faster in emerging markets. Another short-term trends are mobile internet and mobile broadband, although these still are expensive tools.
