Costco.com offering the gift of music lessons
In a first for the discount chain, Costco Wholesale is selling gift certificates for music and voice lessons, and it’s exclusively on Costco.com. Costco has partnered with TakeLessons, a company that books certified music teachers for student lessons. The addition of certificates for music lessons expands the wholesale chain’s gift certificate lineup beyond its existing gym membership, spa, restaurant and lodging offers. Costco members can purchase $100 TakeLessons gift certificates for $79.99. The lessons take place either in a student’s home or a nearby studio. TakeLessons certifies its instructors based on their educational background, teaching experience, references, a criminal background check and other requirements. Students using the gift certificates can arrange lessons locally by using the company’s web site or by phone. TakeLessons offers online payment as well as lesson scheduling and learning tools to help facilitate managing lessons.
