Companies invest on mobile TV
Companies are increasing their bets on mobile TV. Qualcomm, for instance, has said mobile phones can be the device to deliver paid TV to the mass consumers, as the ability to watch TV in their mobile phones is the one Brazilians enjoy more. In Japan, 40% of mobile users watch TV in their devices and 90% of the phones are TV-ready. Band TV network has been testing this service in 2G and 3G devices, focusing on smartphones. For the network, the main challenge is to find a profitable mobile business model, specially considering 80% of Brazilian mobile phone users adopt the prepaid system.
