Brazilian mobile phone users base reaches 162 million
The number of mobile phones in Brazil rose 19.6% in July year-on-year, to 161.92 million, according to the country’s telecommunications agency Anatel. Month-on-month, the evolution reached 1.45%, with 2.308 million new lines plugged last month. In the year, there are 11.28 million new mobile phone subscribers, the second-best figure ever, only behind last year’s 14.35 million. There are 84.61 devices for every 100 people in Brazil, according to Anatel.
