2009 will be the year of Mobile Marketing
According to the Mobile Marketing Association, 2009 will be the year of mobile marketing. Brazilian market topped R$ 150 million last year, figure expected to soar by 50% in 2009. Worldwide, this is a US$ 4.5 billion market and forecasts point to a US$ 10 billion to US$ 24 billion market by 2012. Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) reports there are today 147 million mobile phone in use in the country, 19.5% more than one year ago. Of them, 11 million access the internet or emails on a regular basis through their cell phones.
